Born in 1944. Professor, Doctor. The areas of research are Slavonic Philology, Byzantine-Slavonic Liturgics and church singing. The Head of the Slavonic Studies Department of the Bavarian University in Wurzburg, Director of the UCU Institute of Liturgics (Lviv), Correspondent Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (1990), Academy of Sciences of the North Rhein-Westfalen in Dusseldorf (2001) and Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig (2002). Research areas: Ancient Slavonic Philology, Slavs history of ideas, Byzantine and Slavonic history of church, Byzantine and Slavonic church music, hymnography and liturgics, Byzantine and Caucasian church links in the Medieval Ages, commentary on the text of the Greek and Slavonic Bible. |
